December 2018: Check our WEkEO latest updates!

November 12, 2018

The WEkEO Copernicus DIAS Service strives to continually deliver a user-driven service including free-of-charge products and meet user needs.

We are happy to announce a new version of the WEkEO platform, providing users more products and an easier-to-use service to understand the earth environment.

As planned in our roadmap (https://www.wekeo.eu/offer), the WEkEO Copernicus DIAS Service has open since early December 2018 a new service release, including new functionalities and products to help users better understand the earth environment, to maintain a state-of-the-art portfolio, and to better meet user needs from various communities ranging from research to the public and private sector.

The main insights of the release include full availability of Satellite Sentinel-1 and 2 products, in addition to the already available Sentinel-3 data. This was possible thanks to the WEkEO collaboration with EODC (Earth Observation Data Centre for Water Resources Monitoring) based in Austria. EODC benefits from the WEkEO federated offer and is sharing with WEkEO its improved Sentinel-1 and -2 data archive for the benefits of all WEkEO’s users.

Moreover, the service now offers an updated user interface: the fruitful interaction and feedbacks from the numerous WEkEO’s pilot users have allowed us to improve our API functionalities, our documentation, our Harmonised Data Access tool, to better fulfil our user’s needs. Our WEkEO DIAS is currently in a demonstration phase, and is proudly built in collaboration with our pilot user constructive feedbacks and with their user-driven mindset.

Next release will take place on January 2019 and will provide with more products and better functionalities.
